We had a great turnout on Tuesday night for our Political Pub devoted to the Democratic candidates. We filled the room with almost 50 people. A big thanks goes to Zachary Miller and Sally Sharpe, who joined us to speak about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton respectively. Unfortunately, Meredith Gowan Le Goff was unable to attend to speak about Bill Richardson.
The discussion began by focusing on Hillary Clinton and her vote to authorize military action in Iraq in 2002. Many people felt she hasn’t done enough to explain/apologize for that vote, and it remains to seen whether this will be an important litmus test as more and more Americans start to focus on the campaign and make up their minds about the candidates. Discussion also extended to how confident Democrats can be about winning the White House in 2008 and what it will take to not only win the nomination but defeat the Republican challenger.
